Giving Lieberman what he wants moves the ball down the field.
Please keep in mind people that passing a Senate bill is only one more third of the process.

There still has to be a conference between House and Senate. The real fireworks haven't been ignited yet. That will be when both chambers have to vote on the conference bill.

6. The problem is that with Joe you don't have 60 votes and without Joe you don't have
60 votes. You don't have 60 votes. You cannot break a filibuster if Joe wants one. He gets to beat his chest and be the big man for a while. (He really is a prick)

You cannot use reconciliation because most of what progressives want are not budgetary and will be stripped out in the process.

You know, make 'em really filibuster. Show it on C-SPAN. Great theater. The media would love it... it would be fodder for talking points... the Democrats would finally look like they have a spine.
