14. Ah, then I think my parents should have sent me to Charm School.
I could have learned the art of nuance. As it is, I let my true feelings show. I still think McCain is an asshole.

Come on get over it all ready. You didn't see Al Gore or John Kerry acting like toddlers missed that their naps when they lost...And actually Al Gore really WON the election and didn't become president so if anyone has a right to be bitter it's him. Yet he continues to be a class act...

18. I've read a growing number of people in Washington think he's motivated by revenge
I've read there's a growing number of people in Washington who think McCain is motivated by revenge in his fierce opposition to Obama, and by his former moderate positions on stuff under Bush.

Why? Bush beat McCain in the presidential primary in 2000, Obama beat McCain in the presidential general election in 2008.

I've seen evidence of this on the Bush end in a few stories over the last few years.

-At one point in the 2008 election, during the primary, a story surfaced that shortly after the 2000 election McCain held a big barbecue, inviting over lots of friends. At that gathering some guests claimed McCain implied he didn't vote for Bush in the general election (I think the claim was he shook his head and said 'shhhh' when asked if he voted for Bush). McCain's campaign viciously attacked the story, rather than do the more practical 'no comment'.

-Bush has claimed recently that he hated McCain so much that he would have endorsed Obama if 'they'd' (democrats) asked him for his endorsement, so the two aren't on good terms.

24. He feels he's been robbed of his Climatic life's ending as President
He's planned this ever since he first started in government. It was always about him and his career. And now he's been thwarted and he knows he won't get another chance because he's too old. Isn't it obvious?

26. He's angry that he sold his soul to try and become President
and in his cranky old guy brain that's somehow Obama's fault. Ergo, Obama gets the blame and is the target of his angry old-guy outbursts.

30. He sold his soul to Bush
and got nothing in return. Easy to be bitter and angry when you have no soul. I think he lost all respect for himself. Though I would never have voted for him, I did respect the man at one time. Until he sold out.

34. He's bitter because he did all that suffering and politicing and selling out for nothing
Edited on Tue Dec-28-10 01:40 AM by craigmatic
so now he knows that he'll never be president. He lost to that idiot bush in 2000 and he knew bush was a failure and that he could do a better job as he watched him fail. Now he watches Obama, a guy who was a kid when he was suffering in Vietnam, do the job that he feels like should be his. On one hand you could sympathize with him but if you follow his antics in the senate most of that sympathy fades fast.
