Merle Haggard criticizes media, media can't help but prove his point...
This is classic...

Merle Haggard said in an interview quoted from TPM:

"County music legend Merle Haggard -- a 2010 Kennedy Center honoree -- told Rolling Stone he finds President Barack Obama to be "very different" than his depiction in the media.

"It's really almost criminal what they do with our president," Haggard said. "There seems to be no shame or anything. They call him all kinds of names all day long, saying he's doing certain things that he's not. It's just a big old political game that I don't want to be part of."

He later said, again via TPM:

Haggard also said he doesn't think Obama is conceited, adding that the president seeks help when he needs it. "I think he knows he's in over his head," he said. "Anybody with any sense who takes that job and thinks they can handle it must be an idiot."

CG Roll Call and their Political Wire blog tweeted and retweeted this quote:

So now the meme is: is Obama "in over his head" instead of "Obama is humble".

Classic!

3. Haggard is right. The media painted misleading pictures about Obama
for way too long a time. They finally shut their mouths a little bit after the tax deal, which seemed to make them all happy for a while at least.

I think Obama has started to stand up to the media a little more than he has in the past, but I'd like to see him stick it to them even more because it is criminal how the media would have people perceive him as something he's not.

14. Moreover, he likes holdin' hands and pitchin' woo.
The world would be a much better place if we could replace all those gasbag pundits with folks like Merle Haggard. I second your statement on the media.

16. "The media painted misleading pictures about Obama"
Then they misquoted/parsed Merle's comments. You need to read more carefully.

There are layers of hypocrisy and ill intentions.

7. O.K., so when the media reports that Obama called the owner of the Eagles franchise
primarily to congratulate him for giving Michael Vick a second change, we need to understand that the full context of that phone call was not relayed to the public.

We need to understand that the Corporate Media loves it when we fight amongst ourselves. They absolutely love it when we bash the president.

There is no fucking "liberal media." There is no media at all other than corporate.

Merle Haggard was actually very complimentary of Obama. And Bill Clinton too!

The media, as usual, is just creating mockrage.
