Anybody want to speculate on the shooters odd "logic" style of argumentation?
Edited on Sat Jan-08-11 07:59 PM by Very_Boring_Name
If you read the stuff this guy wrote, every assertion he makes is formatted in a logic sentence form (All A are B. C is A therefore C is B). It's the kind of stuff I had to learn when I studied philosophy in high school and we went over logic. What I find strange is he actually uses this format for every single assertion he makes, even though it's completely unnecessary. It just comes off as really really odd. Like for example, he writes:

Every United States Military recruit at MEPS in Phoenis is receiving one mini bible before the tests.

Jared Loughner is a United States Military recruit at MEPS in Phoenix.

Therefore, Jared Loughner is receiving one mini bible before the tests.

There are a dozen more examples like this one. Is there some psychological reason for him to do this?

1. He's mentally ill.
I think it's pretty much a given at this point that the man is mentally ill. His way of arguing is probably a symptom of that.

2. It's also ironic, given how illogical and incoherent the shooter is.

5. I didn't say he was using logic. I said he was using a logic argument format
The argument itself doesn't have to be logical.

7. "Is there some psychological reason"?
Yes. He's convincing himself that he is sane, and rational, because he can rationalize his thoughts.

8. This man isn't mentally ill. He uses the buzz words of Fox. Funny thing is when
your watching MSNBC they are showing a picture of the young man with long hair as if he is a hippie. But the picture I have seen on the net shows a young man with short hair and looks like a kid who goes to college.
