Ugh...news on the 9-year old killed
Also killed was 9-year-old Christina Taylor Green of Tucson.

A neighbor was going to the Giffords event and invited Christina along because she thought she would enjoy it, said her uncle, Greg Segalini.

Christina had just been elected to the student council at her school. The event, held outside a Safeway supermarket north of Tucson, was an opportunity for constituents to meet Giffords and talk about any concerns they had related to the federal government.

"The next thing you know this happened. How do you prepare for something like this. My little niece got killed-took one on the chest and she is dead," Segalini said outside the girl's house.

Christina was involved in many activities, from ballet to baseball, Segalini said.

"She was real special and real sweet," Segalini said.

:(

Apparently she was born on 9/11

The 9-year-old who was shot dead today at the Giffords event was featured in a book “Faces of Hope: Babies Born on 9/11."

7. Oh, and count the number of letters in her first name, and the letters in her middle and last name.

10. Look up the logical fallacy known as...
"found significance".

12. AKA the "Texas Sharpshooter Fallacy".
Anyone can claim to be an expert marksman if they paint their bullseye over the area where their random shots are more closely clustered.

16. Did I actually need the Sarcasm tag?
Of course politicians are killed in other countries. The other poster described us as a "sick" society because a pol was killed -- happens everywhere, as you rightly point out.

20. And the point?
I get the sarcasm, but am not sure what it has to do with whether or not this is a sick country.

14. I agree, Zoeisright. I feel hopeless. I think it's been confirmed
the little girl WAS born 9/11/01. And if one of the posters is right that she died at 9 in '11, that's too freaky for me too even wrap my mind around. Seriously. I'm just too devastated to even think.

18. My heart breaks for her parents.
I cannot imagine anything worse than losing a child, especially in such a senseless way.

I have a 9-year-old daughter of my own. She & her 7-year-old sister got extra hugs today.
