I really don't see how the people of Connecticut can be fooled into reelecting him to the Senate again. Not now.
The only hope he has at this point for remaining in politics would be a Repuke victory against Obama in 2012, someone that would be willing to give him a Cabinet position.
In fact, that may be what he is banking on. It certainly would explain his recent behavior.
