President Obama’s Tucson Speech
President Obama’s Tucson Speech
January 12, 2011 7:58 AM

Jake Tapper and Ann Compton report:

Per sources, the president worked throughout the night on the speech. Its goal will be to administer to those mourning, honor those impacted by the shootings – including the victims, the heroes, and all those grieving in Tucson and beyond. Another goal will be to lift the nation up in this moment, not sully it with politics, thus shrinking what this moment stands for.

Most recent guidance is the speech will run between 10-15 minutes.

Three branches of the federal government will travel with President Obama on Air Force One to Tucson today: Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano, who was Arizona’s governor, Attorney General Eric Holder, Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy, and from the legislative branch Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., along with the Republican members of Arizona’s US House delegation: Reps. Paul Gosar, Jeff Flake, Trent Franks, Ben Quayle, and Dave Schweikert.

1. You know what
we were warned about Arizona when Obama appointed Napolitano.

Now I have total respect for Napolitano because to have been
the Governor of a bigoted State as Arizona going untouched,
that takes "huge iron balls" (sorry about the comparison but
pun intended). We are now seeing the State for what it is.

Yep, you are the right candidate for Homeland Security.

4. Could be, maybe she needs to start
paying more closer attention to her former State as that is where everything seems
to be active.
