1. That's lovely
And all she needs to do now is find us the provision of the US Constitution that will allow that to happen.

Or a past historical example of a US Senator or congressman being recalled.

I'm all ears.

6. Senators can be recalled in 18 states. Connecticut is not one of them, unfortunately.
Citizens can petition to recall a US senator in these states: Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Georgia, Idaho, Kansas, Louisiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Montana, Nevada, New Jersey, North Dakota, Oregon, Rhode Island, Washington and Wisconsin.

Luck is with Joe in this instance. :(

16. the state of california disagrees with you.
The recall law in California applies only to state and local elected officials, not to federal elected officials. That is because, as California expressly acknowledges, the constitution doesn't allow recall of federal elected officials.

25. WRONG! NO State can recall a US Senator
Only the US Senate can, on a 2/3 majority vote, expel a member.

Once seated, a Senator cannot be removed by his or her state.

Same holds for Congresspersons.

He should know that senators aren't subject to recalll.

9. If it ever was going to be done, now is the time. Too many Dems here are furious.
I've never seen anything like it. Just mad as hell. And that's not just the 55-64 crowd...enraged is more like it since hope was there and then snatched away by this one guy. And I'm talking about the barber that cuts my husband's hair, the auto mechanic who just fixed my flat tire, people like that. I talk to these people and listen to what they have to say. It ain't pretty for Lieberman. Good thing he never comes here any more...he'd probably get something thrown at him...

10. No, US senators and congressmen cannot be recalled.
The only reasons a term can end prematurely would be: death, resignation, or expulsion.

26. 67.
Each House may determine the rules of its proceedings, punish its members for disorderly behavior, and, with the concurrence of two thirds, expel a member.

7. He can't be recalled but he can be impeached
When you publicly admit that you are using your vote on legislation as a weapon to hurt other members of the senate without regard as to what effect that will have on the country, then it's time for your ass to be impeached.

15. Well, I don't think that they will do what I suggested to Harry Reid's office
I called and told the staffer that Reid should put Lieberman in a straight jacket and lock him in a closet until voting on health care is over. Bet Joe wouldn't enjoy that.

14. Expulsion
Expulsion is the most serious form of disciplinary action that can be taken against a Member of Congress. Article I, Section 5 of the United States Constitution provides that "Each House may determine the Rules of its proceedings, punish its members for disorderly behavior, and, with the concurrence of two-thirds, expel a member."

24. NO US SENATOR CAN BE RECALLED
It's unconstitutional.

Article 1 of the constitution grants the sole power to removing Senators to the Senate.
