FRAME: All Democrats need to fight back with GOP-branded "Obamacare" with "Affordable Care Act"
Whenever any reporter asks a politician or spokesperson from the GOP or their minions and they refer to the healthcare legislation as "Obamacare", they have to be warned IMMEDIATELY that they are referring to the correctly named "Affordable Care Act". If anyone representing the Democrats or people who actually have credibility hears the word "Obamacare" mentioned, they IMMEDIATELY have to correct the person by saying they are talking about the "Affordable Care Act".

"Obamacare" is Murdochese nonsense. It's propaganda. It's a political term coined up by purveyors of proselytism like Fred Luntz, who coined the "Clear Skies Initiative" and other cloaked axioms.

2. K&R
Should have been done long ago. It's an up hill battle with 'Global Warming' when the idiots keep seeing/hearing 'blizzards' in the South.

4. impractical, even if true
If I did this about every issue and concept misleadingly labeled by the corporate press, I'd be unable to say anything else to anyone I talk to all day.

It's theft, stop calling it austerity.

It's oppression, stop calling it security.

It's crime, stop calling it business.

and so on, and so on, and so on....

6. But that's what we must do - about every issue, all day - because this is how the RW wins.
Read some George Lakoff.

5. Agreed about Obamacare, but "the Affordable Care Act" doesn't exactly trip off the tongue. Nor...
...is it very sexy.

How about just "Affordable Care?" Still kinda clunky, but shorter.

Dems need to get better at naming bills.

7. IMO Luntz and Faux made a big mistake with this one.
The suffix, "care" has no negative connotations. Pairing the word with "Obama" is a benefit for us.

We should be using the actual name, but we should also be attacking Republicans for trying to make "care" a bad word.

10. I agree and have fully embraced the term.
People like the man, eventually, they will like the bill.

11. "Yes Obama cares about Americans who can't afford health care, so do I...
Are you really saying that you DON'T care about Americans who can't afford health care, Mr. Republican?"

Take the word back, don't wait.

.... the GOP has won the messaging war on the name of the bill. Obamacare is neat and tidy and easy to remember. If it weren't named after the most popular man in DC I might be more inclined to agree w/you. It's not like they're calling it "Pelosicare."

12. The Dems appear to have never even heard of "Framing the debate" or "defining the message"
George Lakoff has been trying to tell them about this for decades now. They ignore him, at their peril, and ours.

The repukes are playing chess with messaging. The Dems have not even mastered checkers yet.

14. And Dems need to stop calling it a bill
The Affordable Care Act is signed law. Calling it a Bill gives Republibastards wiggle room, sort of like the Theory of Evolution. We know evolution is reality, but using the word theory just lets dumbass righties prattle on as if there is room for doubt.
