Tweety just showed the numbers. That is a 15 point upswing in one month. Not bad.

had a soundbite that said Obama's approval was at 54 percent. Not sure which poll. No link, sorry. Maybe this was the poll my local news was talking about. I was watching an ABC affliate. http://washingtonexaminer.com/blogs/beltway-confidential/2011/01/latest-postabc-poll-outlier

3. How up 15 points in one month? Looks like 8. |

More fundamentally, what's making everyone so happy about Obama all of a sudden? Opinion engineering, Inc.

It seems like Independents are swinging back Obama's way. They liked the productivity of the Lame Duck Session and they liked his response to the Tucson tragedy.

7. Nobody's answering the larger question posed here. |
|
Why is he up 8 or 15 points in one month, depending on how one counts it?

8. Why don't YOU answer it? |

You seem to think it's artificially high for an unusual reason.

If I were, and they asked why, I would say I was satisfied with his performance during the lame duck session, as well as his speech at the Tuscon memorial. Since election day, I've been pleased with Obama and the (majority) of DEMs in Congress.
