What if Obama's pro-business agreements are calculated to further divide the Republican Party?
Scenario: Obama goes insanely to the right on economic & national security policy in order to get concessions on social issues like DADT, DOMA, & health care, & abortion. Tea party heads explode nationwide over the less-crazy Republicans who agreed to said concessions. Chaos ensues in time for 2012.

Just a thought. I can't imagine why else he would be doing this.

1. He hasn't gotten any concessions...
They jerked the Dems around for months making them change the health care legislation and still didn't support it.

8. Then American democracy is a shadow of its potential
Not even a shadow.....an illusion.

It is the Matrix. And we, are but small, disposable batteries, used while the charge is high, and then casually discarded and recycled for the next generation.

I suspect you are correct.

I read another blog that likened Obama to Booker T. Washington.

,stopping the biggest mountaintop mine and adding protections to federal lands all of which happened within the last month. Is DU's collective memory really this short?

3. Riiiiiiiggghhhhttt......
Seems that it's done quite a bit to divide the Democratic Party as well.

And what's your rationalization for his administration's constant berating of the liberal/progressive members of the Democratic party? Is this also supposed to cause division and chaos among Republicans?

play chess with the man.

He is so many moves beyond you.

9. It is not that he has so many moves beyond you
It is that he knows who owns the board, who leases the pieces, who rents the clock.......and if you want to play....you play by their rules.

13. Then the party becomes ever more unbalanced
in favor of strategy versus principle to the point where it's acting against the interests of the majority of Americans at this crucial time.
