The reality behind failin Palin
The money behind Palin was soft money primed to get the Tea Party people out in 2010. The money was to remain there as a will she/won't she thing until the real Republican Primaries start and she "decides" her time is not now but she magically "lends" her support to whoever the Koch brothers etc really want to run.

Republican money interests then hope to carry the Palin nutterz and the rest of their coalition with them to the General.

I'm not convinced that she will play their game. Her lunatic supporters will tear the GOP apart. Just search what they are saying about the mad right winger Chris Christie. To the Palin crazies he is now a terrorist loving RINO (seriously that is what they think).

The divisions she will create - that serves them right.

1. The meltdown among GOPers in the 2012 cycle
Is going to be epic. Simply look at the nuts at freakrethuglic, they've purged anyone not on the Palin train to nowhere, further marginalizing an already marginal minority of the far right. When a wing nut like Chris Christie is painted as too liberal, only a Palin-Bachmann ticket will satisfy them (As long as they name Johnny 'I am the walrus' Bolton as their SecState)

2. The GOP strategy is hold the nutterz
forget the rest. OK for mid-terms but not for a Presidential year.
