DAMN Big Ed moving to 10:00pm
That's not good people usually sleep around that time because of working the next morning. This may be the beginning of the end for his show.Kind of strange all this is coming right after the Comcast MSNBC merger.

1. They're trying to silence all the liberal voices
Edited on Fri Jan-21-11 10:28 PM by mvd
Many loyal viewers will not forget this!! Down with Comcast! The corporations and powers that be are getting more and more influence and we must turn the tide to save America.

7. Boycott the advertisers

Besides that, America still has some free speech, so we have to voice our opinions.

Right now the tide is definitely in favor of big corporations, and I don't know if there's an immediate solution.

10. Cenk will be 'filling in.' Perhaps to be made permanent if he pulls in viewers.

15. Why not have a person of color "fill in?"
MSNBC and CNN regularly use up-and-coming and/or untried-on-cable folks as fill-ins - grooming them as hosts and helping them build an audience. Most of these people were barely heard of outside of a small following or demographic. Then when a regular slot opens up, they slide them in.

One problem - these people are ALWAYS white. I can count on one hand with enough fingers left over to still make a fist the times they've put a black person on as a guest host.

Then when people suggest that they hire a black host, we get the "there isn't anyone qualified" excuse followed by a list of once virtually unknown white people who were plucked from obscurity, given a chance, worked out on the farm team and then put into the queue to await their turn at cable influence and stardom.

It's an old game and even folks right here play right along with it.

8. Imagine Poor Ed - His Work Day Starts 8AM on Radio
and he won't be done until midnight - takes time to wind down from these high pressure jobs.

This is designed to make him quit. Make him miserable.

12. Poor Ed? Really?
I'm sure there are plenty of people who would gladly take his place in a nightly primetime hosting gig.

14. I'm Sure There Are
nonetheless, the man has two jobs - making his work day 12 hours, not counting the time he gets up, get's to the office early, and stays late to finish up - so lets say Ed will now have 15 hour day.

Is that worth it? Physically, mentally?

I think Ed cares more about his radio show vs the Comcast gig.

So yes, I say "poor Ed". His health will suffer from this kind of schedule.

11. Ed Schultz statement on time change for The Ed Show
Ed Schultz statement on time change for The Ed Show

Posted on Saturday, January 22, 2011

Ed says:

I want all the listeners of the Ed Schultz radio show to know that nothing will change. The stations that carry the Ed Schultz radio show have been great to "Team Fargo" and I have no intention or plan to change anything.

The move of the "Ed Show" on MSNBC to 10pm eastern puts our show in prime time all across the country. We will be on at 9pm in Chicago, 8pm in Denver and 7pm in Seattle and Portland, Los Angeles, San Francisco and San Diego.

My personal mission to advocate for the American worker and the middle class along with the fight for social justice will never change. I will have a lot more to say Monday night.

Keep the faith, your friend, Ed
