No MSNBC for me !!!
If they can get rid of the #1 host KO than I say to HELL with them. I like Rachel and The Last Word but not enough to continue watching MSNBC.

7. Well, he was my number one host and I too am boycotting MSNBC
I love Rachel, highly respect Lawrence and really like Ed. But MSNBC has treated Keith Olbermann disgracefully, and I don't condone it. And while COMCAST says it had no involvement, there is a pattern which has crept into NBC's programming of downsizing the quality characters in a show, read those best paid, for people who will not cost as much. A truly great example of that was Vincent D'Onofrio (Law and Order Criminal Intent). It is the same concept we see in the labor market in general lately; I don't want the best or need the best quality, just give me a body.

I do want quality, so I am sitting out MSNBC broadcasts. Hurts really, but there is no getting around this for me.

19. It hurts bad enough to damage Rachel, Ed and Lawrence? Really? You know a boycott means nothing...
...unless you have a Nielson Box, right?

13. you can expect the highest rated host to be fired
That's what they do. Fire the highest rated liberal host.

6. If we quit watching they'll just claim nobody wants to see progressive TV programming
They are probably just waiting for their ratings to go into the shitter so they can dump all the good (well, better than Fox/CNN) programs they carried in the evening.

11. Yeah, I'm not watching NBC news anymore. I have mixed feelings but I'll have to watch Rachel
She's just too good. Though I agree with a poster who said she probably has only 6 months tops. The new masters apparently don't tolerate the truth.

15. if their ratings tank, that will just be an excuse to ditch progressive voices
making it all a self-fulfilling prophecy.

I've been watching (off and on) O'Donnell's first show in this time slot, and it's been pretty decent thus far. I'm looking forward to his tribute to Olbermann, which I believe is coming up ...

23. do you think today's lineup is static?
That Ed and Rachel and Cenk and Lawrence will retire from NBC as greybeards (figuratively)?

The "strong progressive voices" are here today. But tomorrow, or next month, or next year the suits under Murdoch will jerk it all.

We have no control or influence because they have put ideology over profit. We cannot expect them to act rationally.
