18. After 3 years of great speeches and little action
we've already seen the substance. During the campaign he was all about Main-street not Wall-street. Since his inauguration it's been 90% Wall Street 10% Main-street.

2. And he's going to accomplish all this while "streamlining" government
I hope he can get even half of this done by 2016.

But I'm skeptical.

I printed out that list and I'm taping it to my desk where I can see it everyday. It'll make a nice scorecard.

3. But where was the mention of ...
home remedies for your cat's hairballs? My cat has a hairball problem and he didn't address it once!

Where was there talk about the relative merits of AP courses in high school -- or not?

And prunes versus laxatives for constipation. He did not even TRY to address that issue. (Despite the fact that the orange-faced guy sitting behind him looked like he could have used some advice on the subject.)

4. Is this list from the White House site?

I switched back and forth, so may have missed it.

14. Looking forward to the President's
budget. From the speech:

<...>

This is our generation’s Sputnik moment. Two years ago, I said that we needed to reach a level of research and development we haven’t seen since the height of the Space Race. In a few weeks, I will be sending a budget to Congress that helps us meet that goal. We’ll invest in biomedical research, information technology, and especially clean energy technology – an investment that will strengthen our security, protect our planet, and create countless new jobs for our people.

<...>

17. Geez. I don't recall that we responded to the first Sputnik by
--being deficit hawks and freezing government spending. We did the opposite--massive spending on the interstate highway system and expanding higher education.

12. Nobody has ever claimed Obama doesn't give good speeches...
his actions, well, those leave a lot to be desired IMO. Two costly needless pointless wars for profit, cover up of war crimes by the Bush admin, not standing up for REAL health care reform, siding with big business and big banks over the american people, etc.
