Letting peferct or good be the enemy of adequate is unwise, pass what we have & build on it quickly |

Jus sayin, we can win a small battle by passing what we have now and regroup to win the war with price controls later no?

Without something in this bill to induce competition, all I'm seeing here is a taxpayer subsidized giveaway to the insurance industry.

15. Just for once, I'd like the Democratic Leaders |
|
to shoot for fucking perfect.
Trying for perfection is a noble quest.
They already fucked this country up by going for the race to the bottom (wages, jobs etc), and we all know that sucks. Tainted toys, low-paying mcjobs, toxic pet food & toothpaste, inadequate funding for education, housing bubbles, economic chaos and bailouts for the richest: I mean why do we always settle for this shit?
Just for once, I'd like pretty fucking close to perfect. Okay? Just try for perfection. It's a good thing.

16. Sorry but I have NO faith that they have any interest in making it better |
|
How is it that every compromise that results in something that MIGHT be a good building block for the future ends up getting dropped out of the legislation? It happens every time something significant that could become a threat to the Death Insurance Industry ends up in the bill. They don't want anything which can be built upon to be in the bill. They want a marginally (at best) regulated private insurance industry that the American public is forced to buy into. That's it. They will never make it better. They don't even want to give states the right to try something which may work better! The CBO screams about "government takeover" when presented with legislation which includes a provision requiring 90% of revenue to be spent on (gasp!) actual medical care. Sorry, but what we are looking at now is high treason.
