The BBC reports: State TV says Mr Mubarak has handed over responsibility for running the nation's affairs to the higher military council.

Does he not realize there is a lot that goes on behind the scenes and, for good reason, not said out loud.

I think President Obama has done well. Many would argue his Cairo speech stoked the people's desire for freedom.

Huge mad crazy props to the Egyptian protesters for keeping their protests largely peaceful. I'm sure it would have been almost entirely peaceful if the rabble rousers hadn't come in earlier

Truly a poster example of a peaceful revolution.
