I trust everyone realizes (whether it's fair or not) that this will be called Obamacare |

and the few corrupt Senators who the administration has been unnecessarily attempting to appease for 60 votes will be little remembered in the end.
Let's hope that we don't have to look back in 2012 and say- if only we hadn't squandered our chance to get it done right....

4. Yep- precisely the point |

and if what's on the table in the Senate passes in substantially the same form- quite a legacy of fail it will be.

9. And the alternative? This "debate" has taken more than 6 months |
|
There isn't time to start over. Get SOMETHING passed like the IRC of 1986 and amend the fuck out of it when given the political opportunity.

11. The alternative is to stand up to the few corrupt Senators and get it done |
|
at least halfway right...
What's currently on the table is a travesty- it not only makes the administration (and the rest of the party) look impotent- but would haunt the Democrats (and bona fide healthcare reform) much of the decade.

If they had come up with a clean, simple idea (e.g. Medicare for All), no one would have to pin a name on this clusterfuck.

As long as he gets to sit at a table and sign - something - anything he'll be happy.
The rest of us, not so much.

13. I prefer the term "Catasrofu#k"... |
|
I mean... at this point, Obama's "hands off" strategy does at least leave few "fingerprints" on the end result.
In 2007 I never would've thought that Pelosi would seem like the most admirable leader of the Democratic party at the close of 2009...
Obama has successfully blown my mind...

Do we really want to own this particular clusterfuck.
