I have just read yet another joke about 'Obama care'. The punch line of the 'joke' was, "run the old lady over and put her out of her misery because Obama's health care won't pay for her hospital visit anyway". This is not the first time I've heard such things and they are coming from people I thought were moderates!!!
My question is this; how did the Republicans and teabaggers pull this bullshit off?
Somehow they have convinced many people that Obama's healthcare plan deprives people of health care.
It's like evolution, climate change (global warming), the Iraqis were behind 9/11, America is the best at everything, Obama is not an American Christian, unions are evil and bad for American workers,... the list goes on and on.
Why do people fall for this rubbish? The stupidity drives me up the wall!

2. Fox News is a deadly organization. |

Limbaugh, too. When people hear racist things said on the airwaves, it gives permission for them to do and say racist things, too.

my husband and I shared our worries about Limbaugh with local Democrats and the general feeling was he should be ignored and was pretty much a joke. Most people seemed to think he'd last a few more years and then fade away. I listened to that man back in 1992 and could I see where it was going. I knew it was spreading when small town radio stations had to get Limbaugh wannabes on their air. He appeals to peoples hatreds and fears. But I don't understand why it becomes so mainstream.
It's a shame people are so wilfully ignorant.

5. I think we should embrace the use of "Obamacare" |

People like it and are liking it more everyday. The use of this definitive and personal assigned will be longstanding and remind everyone who finally pushed through what had been a century in the making.

6. BC/BS raised my monthly health care premium by $400 a month. |

I have to now drop health insurance until 2014 because I can't afford it. There's nothing for me and many people over 50, 55 and too young for Medicare.
So, through the fact that the insurance companies are allowed to raise their rates and reduce coverage, I am without help until 2014.I'm not poor enough for medicaid YET.
I don't want to go begging for charity. No American should have to. We've paid into the system. Our money would better help us all if we could buy into a regulated means adjusted public plan.
