6. So Minutes before they meet
to discuss a funding measure to keep the government operational the Obama administration offered the first formal compromise. Is that how compromise works? I really don't think he has a grasp on how this negotiation thing works. Jesus H Christ on a crutch, what the hell is this guy doing.:banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

14. Maybe they all need lessons

"Minutes before lawmakers and Vice President Joseph Biden met to discuss a funding measure to keep the government operational through the fiscal year, the Obama administration offered the first formal compromise."

The way I understand it
before lawmakers and Biden met the Obama administration offered the first formal compromise. I take that to mean that the decision came from higher up.

7. It's the Dem
talking point.

Dems to GOP as spending talks open: We've met you halfway

Say $10 billion is halfway. Still, if that's the strategy, then they should not offer more.

13. So what? According to the article, this is nowhere near what Republicans want.
Edited on Thu Mar-03-11 05:02 PM by ClarkUSA
In fact, the article says:

"One thing Republicans might not get are the host of riders that attached to their continuing resolution, including language that would cut off, among other things, funds for Planned Parenthood."

What is wrong with this? It sound good to me.

People here seem to think it's easy passing a budget with teabaggers controlling the House. I'd like to see what their strategy is for Congressional legilsative negotiation besides President Obama waving a magic wand.

17. And then the Boehner answers with some off-the-wall shit and looks like an idiot
A spokesman for House Speaker John Boehner, Brendan Buck, dismissed the White House number as "little more than the status quo."
