Gingrich’s Presidential Bid Suffers Embarrassment (Already!)

Former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich began raising money for a potential stab at the Republican presidential nomination today. While he has not explicitly announced his candidacy, he is the first major Republican contender to began collecting funds, and he has established a website to test the political waters. Amusingly, this website features the stock photo of a cheering crowd first used on the website of Ted Kennedy along with the words “We are the Democratic Majority”. Not an auspicious beginning.
