Reid: GOP spending bill among ‘worst pieces’ of legislation in history
Reid: GOP spending bill among ‘worst pieces’ of legislation in history
By Josiah Ryan - 03/04/11 01:21 PM ET

Reid said the bill cutting $61 billion in spending this year is one of the worst ever drafted.

The House GOP proposal to cut $61 billion from federal spending will go down as one of the worst pieces of legislation in the history of Congress, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) said Friday.

“This will go down in history as probably one of the worst pieces of legislation that we've drafted in the history of this Congress." Reid said in a floor speech.

He criticized the size of the cuts, as well as some of the policy language attached to the bill.

“It's a very, very, difficult, bad piece of legislation,” said Reid.

1. The sad thing about this proposal is that they'll pass it in some form instead of using it as a
talking point in the ad wars against the repigs. The headlines write themselves- REPUBLICANS WANT TO CUT SOCIAL SECURITY, REPUBLICANS WANT TO DEFUND EDUCATION, REPUBLICANS WANT TO CUT MEDICARE. Yet dems are actually pondering working with this mound of shit republicans gave them. I bet once the cuts take hold they'll blame the cuts on democrats.
