Yes, the Bush family sucks
Still, it's not like yesterday's appearance with Jeb Bush was the first time President Obama met with a member of the Bush family.

The Clinton Bush Haiti Fund

Clinton Bush Haiti Fund bridges three modern presidencies

Seriously, the one on the left is a war criminal, the only one who launched an illegal war and personally sanctioned torture. There he is again in the middle:

Jeb Bush is a former Governor of Florida. Yesterday, President Obama was greeted by Florida's current Governor:

Dude has a criminal background.

These photos are enough to make one puke, but beyond that it happens. It's part of public life. The President is going to be respectful even in instances where he disagrees with the other person.

1. And there was outrage here then, too
Which is just not reasonable. Obama would look like a jerk to doing anything that would satisfy emotions on this type of thing.

4. Yes, it's
tragic. Kerry wrote an excellent op-ed in January.

On Friday, he and four other Senators introduced legislation to help reunite Haitians with their families in the US.

3. Just because the bush family besmiched the Presidency
Does not make me hate the Presidency. It just makes me hate the bush family.

Isn't it amazing that living Democratic Presidents out-number living republican Presidents

8. Being respectful is one thing
praising them for being exemplary Americans? People to admire?

I mean really was this comment necessary?

"Like the remarkable Barbara Bush, his humility and his decency reflects the very best of the American spirit," Obama told the audience in the White House East Room, which included the former first lady and the Bushes' sons Jeb and Neil. "Those of you who know him: This is a gentleman."

Humility? Decency? The best of the American Spirit? What a crock of shit. None of those fuckers have a decent bone in their bodies. Obama could have been respectful without embarrassing himself. If you think lying his ass off about how great the Bush's are is somehow endearing or respectful you are sadly mistaken.

12. That's like comparing apples and oranges. Having a Bush go to a devastated country is not the same ...

as having a Bush promote one of your policies.

14. It is embarrassing when the left sounds like the radical right that hates Obama with blind rage.
Disagreeing with the Bush family policies is one thing, hating them with an open passion is equivalent to the righties who hate Obama blindly. They want Obama to act like a partisan hack when he
is the President of all of the citizens of the United States including Repubs.

Thankfully he is the adult in the room and acts accordingly.

15. "The President is going to be respectful... "
And I for one am pretty damn fed up with people wanting him to be crass and saying he's not a good leader because he won't be.

24. There is a difference between respectful and praising.
Reading the quotes from the press release is stomach turning. Calling jeb a leader in school reform is uncalled for and wrong. Calling the bush family exemplars of public service is wrong.

Standing next to someone or even shaking their hand on the dais is one thing. Going out of your way to praise jeb bush as an educational leader is just wrong. No amount of sentence parsing and pretend politics will make it right.
