It is ironic that their party's image is one of family values, yet they would consider a Newt Gingrich where we would never consider a man who treated his wives as Newt did. (or John McCain for that matter)

the right. Michelle Bachman is treated as a serious representative, Sarah Palin as a serious candidate. In such an absurd bizarro world any rational response MUST immediately require an apology. How dare we challenge their authority? According to OUR media they are the main force in American politics-we, the center and left (plus the very few rational republicans left) are fringes to be tolerated, not respected.

The media has declared us irrelevant. Get used to it. Apparently we don't matter at all, at least until after the 2012 presidential election.

...what is really going on is the political elites are playing "good cop / bad cop" on us and the Democrats play Good Cop to the Republicans' Bad Cop. Since the Bad Cop role is that of the domineering role, they must always be placated. The Good Cop role is that of the mediator who is trying to get everyone to just get along.

In the meantime, behind closed doors, they rake in the dough and arrange their cushy jobs for after they retire and make sure their own families and offspring are all set up -- going to the best schools and getting the best jobs and all in all, getting set up in life.

Don't kid yourself, few of them give a good God damn about the rest of us. Very few indeed.

I am getting cynical in my older age, but also more realistic. The more I watch these yahoos, the more I realize that we are being played and have been for some time. These people really think that we, the citizens of the United States, "can't handle the truth". That is how they justify their continual lying and withholding of information. But the real truth is, they don't want us to know the truth or anything close to it.
