Possible presidential candidate Donald Trump's stance on same-sex marriage offends gay activist
Edited on Mon Mar-07-11 08:05 AM by Ian David
<snip>

N.Y.C.-based gay activist Allen Roskoff, who co-authored the nation's first gay rights bill in the 1970s, is so taken aback by Trump's comments to the Des Moines Register about his anti-gay marriage and equality stance that he's calling for a boycott of the Donald's business interests.

<snip>

On Thursday, Trump talked about "exploring" a presidential run in an interview with the Register's Thomas Beaumont, who asked the "Celebrity Apprentice" host if he supports "allowing same-sex couples to marry."

<snip>

After thinking about it for a moment, however, Trump said: "As of this moment, I would say no and no" to gay marriage and civil benefits.

<snip>

Roskoff adds: "Not only should gays be furious, we should be boycotting the products of the advertisers on his TV show" - "Celebrity Apprentice," which premiered Sunday night on NBC-TV "and certainly boycotting his casinos and hotels and apartment buildings."

10. Ah... social engineering. I've always thought Donald Trump is a racist.
Now I've got my evidence.

I'm sure he also agrees with the tenets of "The Bell Curve."

To what does he attribute his bankruptcies to? Drive and stamina? His genes?

11. Tell me how that's different from Obama's, Clinton's, and 80% of Democrats in Congress positions
He even said "as of this moment", so his position is to the left of Obama's.

want to give some benefits to those gay people. We can sit wherever we want on the bus, but we must drink from a certain water fountain.

You would expect this type of attitude from Trump. Not so much from so-called DEMS.

19. Opposing DOMA is not the same as supporting gay marriage
DOMA made it so a state doesn't have to recognize gay marriage performed in another state. Obama is still on the record as opposing gay marriage, and that's not me just making things up.

20. Please. Obama's views on gay marriage are evolving and he always talks about how
GLBT should have the same rights as everyone else. He has already proved to be different from Trump and others.

21. Trump leaves an opening big enough to drive a truck through. Democrats should get him nominated.
Switch parties now. Elect Trump as the GOP nominee. The Donald will destroy the republican party on purpose. Any sane person knows they are killing America.

Many progressive ideas make economic sense...not for lobbyists or special interests...but Trump knows this. He once called for a one time WEALTH TAX on millionaires, including himself. He's for tariffs on imported goods. He works with the unions. I think he will get single payer healthcare enacted...because it makes sense...and he knows the insurance companies are ripping people off. What republican could possibly be better? Hell, he's better than most Democrats, and maybe Obama too.
Gay marriage? He can't be worse than Obama...and certainly not any of the current republicans.

22. He and Gingrich should run together.
Their slogan could be "Protecting Heterosexual Marriages by Having a LOT of Them!"

It makes me :puke: when serial adulterers think they have ANY place discussing marriage rights. If the law was just, they would have lost THEIR right to marry based on their obvious disdain for the institution.
