President Obama
I know you've cleared your schedule today (not an easy task, is it!?) and will be heading to Madison with your comfy shoes and the best speech your best speech writers could get together in such a short time (not even 24 hours!). I suspect it will be great but I will be sleeping as I work at night in a union hospital.

I wish you the best on this. I personally think you should have been there well before this crisis time but hind site is 20/20 and all that. You can pull it out of the fire. I've seen you do it before. And I have full confidence that this will be one of your better speeches.

I look forward to seeing it after I wake up. Have a great day in Madison with all of those fine people! Especially say hi to the Mayor of Madison - I think he's staying overnight with the protesters so he might look a bit crumpled but as someone who has spent many an alnighter yourself, I'm sure you can look past that to the bravery and stalwart support he has shown from the beginning. Let him and all the people in Madison know that we throughout the nation are with them. In spirit, and if necessary, in a general strike, the last resort.

1. Btw, if anyone wants to say it's easy to just write on a website
I sent an exact copy to the Whitehouse and have ordered 30 pins to give out to my fellow nurses to wear at work (I checked the contract and it's ok to wear pins. I will likly be joining a protest on Saturday too. Don't worry, I'm only a keyboard warrior at night when I'm not highway blogging.

8. I hope you wrote an equally snarky letter to the asshole unions that actually...
endorsed Scott Walker. Did you do that? You speak as if this was the president's fight. This was a "union" fight. He's President of the US, not the SEIU. Public opinion was on the side of the unions, but at the end of the day, the votes were always there to strip their collective bargaining rights, no matter what Obama said, or how emphatically he said it.

I'm not quite sure what his going there sooner would have made. The Repukes did an end run around the budget bill. How was Obama to stop that?

2. He's hosting a WH forum on teenaged bullying .....
.... sorry if you think this is a less worthy cause.

3. It's not less worthy
It is important and it will still be important on Monday and every day that bullying continues and beautiful souls such as the one you show continue to kill themselves. But the schedule needs to be rearranged. The eyes of the nation are on Wisconsin today and he will lose his job in 2012 if he isn't there. I'm not diminishing this forum one bit by saying the equally capable Michelle Obama can host this.

6. How many things do you expect him to do at once?
And how long do you think it should have taken him to cure all of the ills of the world? I'm sensing so much impatience, but that's about it.

9. Just this one actually
I just woke up so I have no idea if he did the right thing or not. And this isn't about any pony - I don't particularly care for horses. This is about him saving his job.
