Poll: Record Six In Ten Americans Now View Palin Unfavorably

If Sarah Palin ultimately decides to enter the 2012 presidential race, she'll have a long, long way to go to reach the White House: A new Bloomberg News poll of American adults finds Palin is now more unpopular than ever.

The poll adds to the clear trend of public opinion surveys showing Palin polarizing the electorate, with more and more Americans developing unfavorable opinions of her. And it shows that, should she run for and win the Republican Party's presidential nomination, she would need to drastically change voters' perceptions of her in order to win the general election.

In the poll, 60% of respondents said they viewed Palin unfavorably, compared to 28% who viewed her favorably -- good for a whopping 32-point net negative favorability.

The current TPM Poll Average shows that 55.2% of Americans view Palin unfavorably, while 30.5% view her favorably. And that gap has been steadily getting worse.

3. My thoughts exactly
Anything sociopathic, regressive or just plain nuts has that same 20-30% 'backwash' who think it's great.

4. Yeah it is the same old 20 to 30%ers. Yet they seems to have a lot of sway with
Republican politicians.

13. It really is, isn't it?
But these statistics are evidence that support for the Palins of the world is based on anything but factual information. Once people recognize the truth they are apt to react intelligently, or so I'm optimistically imagining.

16. Yep. About 1 out of 4 voters are batshit crazy. Alan Keyes (R) got 28%
in the Senate Race against President Obama in 2004. And Keyes was not even from Illinois.

2. That's about as low as she can go.
Seems that there's always at least thirty percent of the population on the wrong side of every issue in the polls. These are the same people that still viewed Bush favorably at the end of his presidency.

6. The republican base loves her and that is what counts. She can beat Gingrich, Santorum and
the other idiots and the media will build her numbers for her.

They will do the same with Huckabee, if need be.

9. Huckabee is probably out of it. He praised both Obamas in the same week and the republicans
will play those statements to the teabaggers and the rest of the fundamentalists during the primaries.

10. We should all be poll skewing to get her numbers up.
If she runs, the GOP primary will be a total train wreck.

The most beautiful train wreck I've ever seen.

14. The ironic thing is I actually saw a Sara Palin bumper sticker on a car today
some old dude driving 25 MPH in a 35. Haven't seen one of those stickers on a car in a really long time.

18. But 30%, or there abouts, is the % of the Republican base among all voters..
So she is still in the running for their nomination.
The real killer is where she lies, in comparison to other Repubs. And she is near the bottom of that approval list.

20. It boggles my mind why someone even bothers to spend money conducting this poll ...............
I mean seriously, no one takes her seriously. No one bothered to poll the citizenry after the 2000 election to see how we felt about Gore. Why bother with Palin?
