Angry Black Lady: Liberals, It’s Time to Stop Bitching and Start Organizing. Just Shut Up and Get to
We’re four Senators and one President away from Thunderdome. Still wanna primary Obama?

I’m doing one of those rare things where I repost another blogger’s work in full because I can’t say it any better, and I fear my head would explode were I to try.

I do want to draw attention to one thing in particular, and that is all the PRAISE ED bullshit on MSNBC this week. How dare he pretend like he’s some fucking working class hero when he was leading the FUCK OBAMA movement during the midterms?
I wrote extensively about how the left was shooting itself in the foot, not only by refusing to vote, but also by refusing to participate in any GOTV activities on behalf of Democrats because Democrats needed to be taught a lesson, that’s why!

Yeah, yeah, I’m an Obot. Do you know what being an Obot means? It means being fucking practical. It means not spending days on end looking for any way to attack Democrats and the Democratic leadership. It means not referring to Democrats as “house niggers.” It means not calling Obama a liar when he tries to get something done and is hamstrung by Congress (Gitmo). It means not expecting Obama to speak out for your little pet projects and stomping your foot when he doesn’t. It means stop looking to Obama to tell us what to do. It means stop trying to convince black people that Obama is fucking them over (I’m looking at you, Arianna.) It means stop expecting that your progressive utopia is going to shoot out of Obama’s ass. It means stop fucking lying and start fucking working.

The rest is here....http://www.angryblacklady.com/2011/03/10/liberals-its-time-to-stop-bitching-and-start-organizing-just-shut-up-and-get-to-work/

I'm tired of having legitimate, IMPORTANT issues (labor, unions, gay rights, war) being dismissed as "ponies" and "pet projects." This is the shit that defines us as a nation and it's being trivialized as some leftist pipe dream. Fuck that.

12. No. Trying to get President Obama directly involved is a pet project
and a very stupid one.It would benefit absolutely no one except the Republicans and a few self-absorbed "progressives" demanding some entertainment for themselves, with absolutely no regard for the consequences for anyone else.

20. Yes. It is one of many issues.
Tired of people who expect what they are into to be thing #1 for all other people.

I can support unions, but why should they be number one?

I'm not a union member, so why should I think that goes ahead of everything else? Why shouldn't gay rights be just as important? (I'm not gay either, and don't see that as ITEM #1 either).

There are many issues. Even if I had a pet one, I would have the maturity to realize that it's not going to be considered that way by everyone.

5. Yeah that's going to inspire a lot of people to jumnp on board....Not
Perhaps instead of your own knee-jerk attacks against some wildly exaggerated strategy by the vast left Wing Conspiracy of Vicious Liberals, you might actually consider listening to people who are critical and engage on something other than a buzzsaw of "You hate Obama and want the GOP to win."

I am referring not just to "you" as an individual, but anyione who engages in this whole strategy of black-and-white "Love It or leave It" partisan fundamentalism.

There may be a tiny minority of progressives who actively are trying to prevent the Democrats from retaining or gaining seats in elections, and who want to see President Obama lose in the next election. But it is a tiny minority.

The vast majority of "Obama bashers" and critics of the Democratic Party are just as concerned -- perhaps more-so -- about the spectre of a complete takeover by the GOP.

We (and I guess I fall into that group) want the Democrats to win. We want President Obama to win in 2012.

But we also believe that the reason for winning elections is to advance an agenda, policies and values. What is really important is rebuilding the economy in a way that benefits the majority, retaining the government as a counterweight to the power of Robber Barons...and generallky lead America in a more progressive and liberal direction.

And, IMO, the best way to win is to STAND FOR THAT AND MEAN IT.

Criticism of perceived mistakes, sellouts and avoidence of core issues is based on the notion that President Obama and the Democratic Party as an institution can and should reflect those goals. When they don't, it is worth criticism and discussion.

13. Sooooo much more sensible than the OP.
You nailed it.

And to the OP -- I haven't seen Obama referred to HERE ON DU as a "house n***er." Have you? So why post that kind of sh*t?

10. It is her blog, she has the right to vent, but not the most effective piece of prose I've read.
I'm glad that Obama has support from other black Americans. I'm just concerned that's the only group he will be able to depend on. And it's just sad when people have given up on ethical standards for government, calling that an Utopia. I remember a time when people would have referred to the Civil Rights Movement as a Liberal Utopia that wasn't worth the effort. Even to this day people say that Kennedy didn't do enough. At least he did something.

I've heard people in road rage incidents say things more logical and compassionate.

"little pet projects and stomping your foot" indeed.
