Voters trending towards Obama, away from GOP on deficit, economy

by Jed Lewison for Daily Kos

DemFromCT took a detailed look at the latest ABC/Washington Post numbers earlier today, but I think these numbers bear repeating:

Chart based on ABC/Washington Post polling data (Source)

So since their post-election honeymoon, the GOP has had something of a nightmare, dropping a net of 13 points on who voters trust to deal with economy and an amazing 17 points on the federal budget deficit.

Although it's somewhat surprising to see their numbers fall so quickly, it was bound to happen: not only have Republicans failed to do a single thing to improve the jobs situation, they are way out-of-step with the public on fiscal issues.

If Republicans keep this up, Democrats might be able to seriously talk about retaking the House.

1. The Republicans honestly thought the American people would
put up with their antics. Not one jobs bill has come out of them, only attacks against Unions and the most vulnerable.

Even Rebublicans are starting to change their party affiliations.

2. From what I've read, they'll be losing a tremendous number of jobs.
In addition, they will be doing a number on children, pregnant women, rape victims, elderly and the poor.

I know some hard-headed Republicans, but they still have a heart and a dose of common sense. These people are cruel, greedy and power-hungry animals. (My apologies to animals.)

8. Damn Right It's Their Main Thing, Their Economic Policies Caused it -graph-
?
The two biggest promises of "Trickle Down Economics" are it's greatest failings. Proponents of "Trickle Down Economics” claim that tax cuts, skewed to the rich, will create jobs and increase tax revenues. The graph above disproves the latter claim. Job creation plummets under "Trickle Down Economics (see http://bureaucountydems.blogspot.com/p/job-growth.html )and nine of the last ten recessions have occurred under Republican leadership (see http://bureaucountydems.blogspot.com/p/history-of-recessions.html ).

Two things are certain to grow when a Republican is in the White House, unemployment and the National Debt.

7. polls are reliable
Edited on Wed Mar-16-11 04:14 PM by mkultra
there is no verification for this besides an election. Pools may be off in accuracy but they are usually pricise so if one poll is off, its off by the same amount all the time. Your post is garbage.

9. They've overplayed their hand. It's only going to get worse for them from here.
They're going to try to shut down the governemnt and if boner isn't careful he'll get replaced. Zealots like these don't last too long in elected office.
