Political Wire: Democrats Set Ambitious Goals for Fundraisers
(What will it take to end the corrupting influence of money in Washington. Rather than change this, President Obama apparently intends to raise even more money than in 2008. Why not a limit of $100 per person, President Obama--particularly, when you have no competition for the nomination. Yours could be a true grassroots, people-powered presidential campaign that could excite the American people all over again--but that's apparently not going to happen.)

Democrats Set Ambitious Goals for Fundraisers

"The nation's top Democratic contributors were given an ambitious set of marching orders, with a select group of 450 donors each asked to raise $350,000 before the end of the year," the New York Times reports.

"The amount is significantly higher than donors have previously been asked to contribute. In the last campaign, the Democrats were asked to raise $250,000 for the entire campaign cycle."
