20. For those of us who remember something about Vietnam,

all these wars are very troubling.

We have dubious allies involved in civil wars or near civil wars.

The terrain is unforgiving.

We don't know what winning really means.

We start small and escalate.

We don't know what the f--k we are doing.

At least during Vietnam, everyone not fighting had a job that paid decently and the economy wasn't totally in the tank.

Oh, yeah. How are we going to pay for this?
