I never approve of military action of any kind...
that said, I must also say that I am impressed with how Obama has handled the situation in Libya so far. Very very different than how Bushco would have handled it (or ignored it) (or encouraged Gadaffi).

1. Bushco were the ones who became "friends" with Qaddafi. And
I agree, Obama took the right approach.

I'm hoping for the best possible outcome. :grouphug:

3. I strongly opposed the invasion of Iraq, I strongly support a UN coalition to protect civilians.
Unanimously supported.

6. well then why did you oppose the Iraq invasion?
We were there to protect Shi'ites, who were being exterminated by Saddam Hussein.

9. that was never the original intention of the Iraq war...
that was their 3rd excuse after the first 2 were discovered to be a sham.

10. I'm not sure I won't be opposing this at some point...
we'll see. But so far, I won't be in the streets for this one until some time passes. Hopefully, it will end soon. If it drags on, I think it will be a bad move.

12. nope.
some of us became registered Ds because we saw the bull shit and lies leading up to the Iraq war. The Bush Administration took advantage of 9-11 to drag us into the Iraq war. They claimed there were weapons of mass destruction and ties to 9-11. It was all false. Many of us knew it. It was never, ever sold in the run up as a humanitarian effort.

14. Bull...
There is no comparison between Iraq and Libya. Bush lied us into war with Iraq, claiming they had WMD and we couldn't wait "for a smoking gun which could come in the form of a mushroom cloud." He also said Iraq was somehow involved in 9/11-at least it was strongly implied. And we sent in ground troops.

That's a totally different scenario from Obama getting a UN resolution with the support of the Arab League to help the people of Libya who WANTED our help. Obama didn't lie to us to send our troops into Libya (the resolution specifically states there will be NO ground troops sent in).

Trying to compare the two is ridiculous.

15. The first and primary excuse for Iraq was a LIE that Saddam had
WMDs (nukes, bio and chemical weapons) that he was ready to fire at us and allies. The humanitarian stuff wasn't really pushed until after we'd invaded and it was proven beyond any doubt that the WMDs were pure fiction.
