On Libya, Hold President Obama Accountable. He's Not Above Scrutiny |
|
I fully support the UN sanctioned No-Fly zone enforcement in Libya. It is the moral thing to do. Gaddafi was bombing his own citizens mercilessly on a scale we are not seeing in other Arab countries. The fact that he could use jet planes without any remorse shows he's a mad man.
As for disagreements on this policy, we should welcome it. Please hold Pres Obama accountable. All leaders perform better if they know the bright lights of accountability are focused right on them.

The parties to the UN resolution and Obama have put forward a careful and well-balanced plan. It should work to stop the slaughter, and allow the Libyans the breathing room to decide their own fates.
It would be very easy to screw things up by over-playing the intervention (such as how blatantly wrong things went in the Philippines quite awhile back) but so far it seems - in both intention and act - to be on the side of the good and effective.
