12. But why did he really withdraw it? Bernie's not afraid of Republicans
or isn't afraid to debate them.

Could it be that only a handful of Democratic Senators were prepared to vote for his amendment against the wishes of Ramn Emanuel?

15. Tom Coburn had the entire bill read and I think he did it to move things forward.
He probably knew there was no way in hell his bill would pass with this Senate.

jillan, can you clarify something, please, since you saw it?

CNN is evidently reporting that REID pulled the amendment, not Sanders.

Could you tell what happened and who actually pulled it from the floor?

Thanks. :)

32. Well - I turned it on to see what was going on with the fillibuster, and all of the sudden Sanders
appeared on the floor and said I want to withdraw my amendment and asked for 30 minutes to speak.

I don't know if Reid had asked him to do that....but I wouldn't be surprised.

4. Bernie is saying that Medicare for All will prevail, if not today - in the future.
Because it is the only way to get rid of beauracrats in the health care industry

29. Then why do these Senators vote No when they have the ability to make sure
we all have the same insurance, including federal workers? seriously, if this bill is good for us it should be good for all of us, from the President down to the homeless person, so why do they vote No when that's brought up? that's another reason I don't trust this bill.

He's doing awesome. Now turning to looking at the USA in comparative perspective. If only he would talk like this on TV when he's on with Maddow I think he'd be a big hit.

Edited on Wed Dec-16-09 03:17 PM by Gregorian
I'm sick of it. Sick of these lame assholes in Congress. There must not be more than a dozen who have brains in the Senate.

Bernie's health care comments have been exactly what the people need. And he's been saying it for a long time.

But he's from the party of SATAN. He's a socialist! America the scared. We'd rather die poor and sick than fight off our corporate oppressors.

Go Bernie!

Why is it that only non democratic senators dare do speeches like that?

Why is it that Democrats consider this reform that is standard in many western countries, as toxic.

35. Holy shit. I love Bernie Sanders. I hope I can get my hands on
that whole speech. It needs to be seen by everyone. It made me want to renew my fight for single payer/medicare for all. And it also made me angrier than ever at all the assholes in our government. So far all these bills are bullshit, when it comes right down too it.
