If Sanders withdrew his single payer amendment, then what is he now debating?

The motion to withdraw?

Let me see if I have this right. He had an amendment to HCR for single payer health care, the Repubs demanded all 700+ pages of it be read, he withdrew the amendment so they wouldn't have to read it.

Doesn't there have to be something on the floor being debated for a Senator to stand up and talk?

There was a cute exchange between Baucus and Grassley yesterday when Baucus yield Grassley some time saying, "everything he's about to say is dead wrong, but he's my friend and he's out of time."
