All you hear is doom and gloom from the pundits even MSNBC who is supposed to be progressive. And I think it is designed on PURPOSE to make it seem the President is incompetent.Bush fucking lied his ass off about Iraq and the media help frame the narrative that Sadaam had nuclear weapons. It is clear to me the corporate media want a rethug in the Whitehouse. That's my take

2. Many people on the left are opposed to this "regime change" war.
And progressives who are opposed to this war have no reason to make the president's war effort look "competent."

5. You mean the same regime change exercise
Obama just SPECIFICALLY said he wanted to avoid for obvious reasons?

10. He can say whatever he wants, but the US military actions tell the real story.
The US is bombing Sirte. Sirte has had NO disturbances whatsoever. No killings of civilians. Why is the US bombing Sirte? The only answer is to facilitate regime change.

3. There is a difference
Maybe if Obama fumbled every sentence, the media would be more inclined to give him the benefit of the doubt. And if Bush weren't a lily white guy from Yale, he may have gotten a little more scrutinty. You're right, it's disgusting the double standard that Obama is held to.

9. Lawrence O'Donnell said he doesn't think it's a war and Rachel Maddow said this speech was
consistent with his Nobel Peace Prize speech.

11. Well if Lawrence O'Donnell said that then it must be settled.
Maybe he should take his show to Tripoli and see what he says then.

12. The Libyan people had a "Thank You Rally" for us and the other countries who intervened
to stop their murder and to allow them to topple Qaddafi. If you want to stick up for Qaddafi and against the people, that's your right and YOUR problem. It's not just Lawrence who doesn't think it's a war.

14. Now a "rally" constitutes the will of 4.6 million people.
How about all tea bagger rallies. Did they constitute the will of the American people? Gates thinks it is a war. I'll trust his judgement over O'Donnell. If you want to believe O'Donnell over Obama's Sec of Defense, that's your right and YOUR problem. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20110320/ap_on_re_us/us_us_libya_gates

15. It wasn't just that one rally. Every day they show Libyans cheering, thanking us,
HELPING the American who had to eject from his jet, etc. Ask Gates what he thinks NOW. I bet he thinks differently.

He changed his mind in 24 hours? BTW the same "they" who shows us warmongering propaganda from Libya is the same "they" who gave us countless teabagger rallies and the same "they" who pushed the WMD line before Iraq.

Nobel Peace Prize speech.

13. Even before the speech, Cenk Uygur, Ed Schultz, and Rachel Maddow, all of MSNBC,
Edited on Mon Mar-28-11 09:07 PM by jenmito
were with Obama. AFTER the speech, they STILL are, and so is Lawrence O'Donnell. They loved the speech (at least those who were on after it) and think he made the case very clear. Lawrence said he wouldn't call this a war and Obama was very clear and specific, Rachel said the speech was consistent with his Nobel Peace Prize speech, and Ed said Obama "hit it out of the part."
