Anthony Weiner "I have as good of a chance of being president as Donald"
Edited on Tue Mar-29-11 06:58 AM by davidpdx
I smell a Weiner/Trump match happening in the near future, maybe not for president, but for NY mayor.

1. I agree, he does.
Snowball's chance in he'll for either of them. There isn't enough room for those two giant egos in one race.

2. Yeah Weiner may have an ego, but I'd take him any day over Trump
It would be a great match up. One I'd almost pay to see.

3. I would too. I'd vote for Weiner. In fact, I'd vote for Weiner over Obama.

4. Weiner egotistical?
I see him more as courageous, self assured, and totally confident of his viewpoints.

He doesn't seem much moreegotistical than Thom HArtmann or Amy Goodman?

Donald, on the other hand......

5. Well the many anti-Israeli sentiments I've seen on the net. I agree.
And Weiner is the ultimate PRO-ISRAEL kind of guy. Funding for Israel would increase, under him.

7. "Kind of guy"?
In what way is he the ultimate pro-Israel politician, compared to the rest? Just do not see any facts backing up the assertion, and that makes it hang there.
The national policy favors Israel. Are you the opposite of Tony, 'anti-Israel'? Who is the 'ultimate anti-Israel kind of guy?
How anti-Israel does your 'kind of guy' have to be? How would that express itself in policy?

9. I'm not anti-Israel at all.
So I don't get your point. I'm one of the people who was disgusted by Helen Thomas' comments. While many, many on this board defends the vile woman. And that's one point. Additionally many on DU are against Israel entering the Gaza strip----Weiner not so much. The situation that happened with the boat---he was on the side of Israel. <---On that point, I disagreed with Weiner.

Any search on DU or even the net will bring up info on that.

11. Israel can never do anything wrong under him
Bush was a pro-Israel hack, but every once in a while he reprimanded them. Weiner never has.

8. Is he running for mayor of NYC?
I'd guess he'd be more effective there rather than being in the minority party in congress, which may change in '12, but I'm skeptical.
