Paul Ryan starts out the GOP side of things seeking $32 billion in cuts. The Tea Party yells and party leaders ratchet it up to $60 billion. Then the Democratic "compromise" position comes out to be... $30 billion in cuts.
And you know, somehow I doubt we will hold to our (their?) initial position on this. And the direction in which we are likely to skew is not going to be toward the left.
What then, exactly, is the overall party strategy for us here? I need it explained, because it makes zero sense to me at present.
