If You Called Your Senators And Supported A Public Option - CALL THEM BACK |
|
Edited on Wed Dec-16-09 03:46 PM by jberryhill
Make sure your Senators know that it's no longer important to you, and they shouldn't fret about losing your support.
Like a fool, I had been regularly contacting my Senators and Rep to register support for Obama's plan to have a "robust public option".
So, I had to make sure to send emails and calls back to them to make sure they know I don't care about it anymore, and they should vote for whatever it is that this bill ends up being, because it is really important to pass anything that is called health care reform.
So, be sure to CALL THEM BACK, if you had supported a public option previously.
This message brought to you by Organizing For Whatever.

4. Well, gee, that's what I had said to them in repeated messages over months |
|
So, today I got the email from OFA to call them again, and I suppose I have to make sure that the public option doesn't matter, and that they should ignore the stuff I sent back in August and October.
Next time, I'll be sure not to jump the gun on stuff like this.

6. LOL - I have a feeling our emails, calls and letters meant little to those... |
|
...who serve the insurance industry and big pharma.
The polls have consistently shown majority support for the public option - and yet...

11. A question for you, Jen.... |
|
I had convinced skeptical friends and acquaintances of mine who are not political junkies to support this thing, and explained how a "robust public option" that Obama had promoted was a the cost control mechanism.
Just what am I supposed to tell them now?
"Oh, well, it's really good anyway, because this Jen woman online has a pre-existing condition and thinks she can pay a 3X premium on a 'cost plus' basis, so her husband can get a different job."
I made a fool out of myself for supporting what I thought President Obama said he supported.
Not gonna make that mistake again.
