GOP Nation is forgetting The FRENCH came just in time to HELP us win FREEDOM from England
France and the USA have been allies since...So whats wrong w helping others get Their Freedoms???

Currently....The GOPers are Negging this whole atmosphere with negativity and pessimism...and locker room opinions....

They are divisive and hateful....they play beyond rough...but they are of Bad Taste....esp if REASON was in their quiver..

We are so lucky we have our Freedoms...to think, to solve, and to complain....and to denigrate....

The Social Evolution is ongoing with Negativity on one side and Positivity on the other...what Force will prevail???

1. Without the French there probably would not be a U.S.A....
The Battle of the Chesapeake, also known as the Battle of the Virginia Capes or simply the Battle of the Capes, was a crucial naval battle in the American War of Independence that took place near the mouth of Chesapeake Bay on 5 September 1781, between a British fleet led by Rear Admiral Sir Thomas Graves and a French fleet led by Rear Admiral François Joseph Paul, comte de Grasse. The battle was tactically inconclusive but strategically a major defeat for the British, since it prevented the Royal Navy from reinforcing or evacuating the blockaded forces of General Lord Cornwallis at Yorktown, Virginia. It also prevented British interference with the transport of French and Continental Army troops and provisions to Yorktown via Chesapeake Bay. As a result, Cornwallis surrendered his army after the Siege of Yorktown. The major consequence of Cornwallis's surrender was the beginning of negotiations that eventually resulted in peace and British recognition of the independent United States of America.

The French Navy stood up to a far superior British Fleet and backed them off.

10. And, of coarse,
the same can be said of France for the massive US loss of life and limb in defense of French sovereignty.

They like the smiting and stoning.

12. They like to have it both ways.
Out of one side of their mouth, they preach that "God loves you unconditionally." Out of the other, it's all smiting and stoning and "God hates fags/whores/unbelievers/whoever else we hate." So, if God loves us "unconditionally", why is there a Hell?

4. The GOP does not care about history except to erase that which
they do not like and to enhance that which makes their leaders look better.

The words: "Those who do not study history are damned to repeat it" mean nothing to the GOP.

13. All that happened more than one election cycle ago
The GOP have no direct memories of what happened before that. They're the "short attention span" party.

18. This was a bad strategic move for the Louis XVI.
While the democratic ideals of the young US and their revolution looked like a good idea for him to support when it was England's ox being gored, the tide had turned when his own people did the same and put his head on the block.

24. The Battle of the Chesapeake is worth keeping in mind
...where the French navy outwitted and outmaneuvered the British navy, preventing reinforcements and relief for Cornwallis and leading directly to surrender negotiations. I always like to bring it up when people start in with the "new glass-bottomed french navy" joke.
