Ongoing Obama drinking game
It's true, I've noticed it, and it's not just the president, it's his people. I've been hearing them working it in a lot.

(...)

That is why Obama has been saying some variation of the phrase "win the future" almost every day since this year's State of the Union address, no matter what else--Arab uprisings, Japanese earthquake, new foreign air invasions--has been going on. It is an interesting thought experiment to think about how the first two years might have been different for Obama had his team embraced this sort of campaign-style discipline from the start. Chances are you would still remember the phrase "new foundation," and more Americans may have thought the President had a plan for solving the nation's economic woes when the walked into their polling places last November.

1. "The New White House Messaging Strategy: Repetition and Precision"
"Ongoing Obama drinking game"?

Is this an excuse to drink?

4. On this topic: what's the specific goal for "winning the future"?
Edited on Thu Mar-31-11 05:06 PM by MannyGoldstein
Is there a target with measurable milestones along the way to see if we're on the way to winning? Like "we'll land a man on the moon and return him safely by the end of the decade". Or are there no specific goals to achieve?

2. Every time I see him using Gingrich's book title to sell this message
can't help but wonder if the image makers in the administration couldn't have come up with something more original.

"In his book, Winning the Future, Newt outlines five major threats to the United States related to terrorism, the absence of God from public life, a decline in patriotism, economic issues and Social Security and Medicare problems."

3. A better game would be the "anti-Obama DU thread" drinking game.
You drink each time an anti-Obama thread pops up.

You'd never be sober.

5. Or perhaps...
You drink whenever Obama does the exact opposite of what he campaigned on.

Just kidding, way too dangerous.

6. Na, the "Obama bad" threads usually repeat the same source over
and over across multiple days ... just with a new OP posting it with a new spin.

Obama acts once ... and the "Obama bad" threads that pop up on DU after are far more numerous, even if repetitive.

Which again, is great for a drinking game.
