26. He won't run unless he has given up trying to keep his congressional seat. |
|
Ohio is losing two seats in Congress and since DK is not liked by the powers that be in both parties his district may be eliminated. He is trying find a way to stay in Congress so he is not going to be running for president unless he has given up on staying in congress.

10. A serious one? Never since he only has one more chance |
|
(assuming of course he doesn't run for Congress later). I suppose it's possible Lee Mercer-esque "challengers" will syphon off a few dozen wild-eyed types this cycle though. Maybe even Kucinich-esque to snag a few thousand.

21. Not in a Democratic primary, but ... |

There will be some charlatan spoiler who will decide to run on a third party perhaps. Someone who will become the darling of nonthinking DUers and who has the ability to wreak damage on the country.

23. Honestly, from my individual perspective.. unless someone goes |
|
3rd party (which has no chance of winning the big enchilada.. that is just how the system is set up now) there will be no challengers from the left in the Democratic Party.
Now everybody and their brother knows I am an Obama supporter..but even with that caveat in mind.. I just do not see anyone in the party who is going to challenge him.

Look, nobody in the GOP field beats Obama.
No D primary challenger is going to win either.
So, the best strategy for the right is to make sure there is enough of a well funded external candidate on the left, to help cut into the margin in the general election.
