This Is A Site That Lists What Kind Of Primaries Each State Has...
Just in case you might want to know...

For instance, my state, California, as of February 2008 says...

Parties may allow voters who decline to state their party affiliation to participate in their primaries. Democrats currently allow registered Democrats and independents to vote in their primary. Republicans currently have a closed primary.

5. My states primaries are only open to Dems only and you have to be registered to vote
It's not an open primary at all.

8. Maine has closed caucuses. Not that I would vote in an open primary. I think it's a bad idea to
let Republicans get in there and help pick your candidates for you. Just my two cents.
