Obama tanking in latest AP/GfK poll linked to on MSNBC website
Edited on Wed Dec-16-09 08:49 PM by jenmito
He's UP 2 points to 56% approval from 54% last month.
Right direction of country UP 8 points to 46% from 38% last month.
Situation in Afghanistan UP 10% to 52% from 42% last month.

More at link: http://www.ap-gfkpoll.com/pdf/AP-GfK_Poll_Release_1_Topline_12.15.09.pdf

(which I had to find from clicking on 2 or 3 links on this site): http://www.msnbc.msn.com/

Of course, you'd never KNOW that his numbers actually improved from the original title where I found the link, as it was titled: "Poll: Public skeptical of war escalation" :eyes:

8. No problem. Yeah, MSNBC linked to it with NO mention of his IMPROVING numbers.
All I heard on MSNBC is the "terrible news for Obama." :eyes:

2. That's because he has no base left.
The left is pissed off at him. The right is pissed off at him.

Call me in 3 years.

Then I'll be more interesting in polling.

21. The spike is coming from the right
Edited on Wed Dec-16-09 08:54 PM by rollingrock
Obama's right-wing policies on war and healthcare are giving him a boost in the polls from moderate republicans and even some neocons (such as Karl Rove) who are coming out of the woodwork to heap praise on Obama after his recent, big pro-war speech.

31. How many Repubs
have signed onto his "massive giveaway to the insurance industry"? Cheney no longer calling him a traitor and praising him? Like hell the Repubs are becoming his best friends.

33. I didn't say all of them were
but many of them have been openly praising him as of late. that includes John McCain, Karl Rove, Pat Buchanan, heck even Sarah Palin has been openly praising his Afghanistan policy.

34. Well, I happen to agree with President Obama on Afghanistan personally
as do many other Democrats. I don't mind that some people don't agree with President Obama on Afghanistan because I understand where they are coming from but just because some Republicans are praising President Obama for something doesn't mean that they're all best buddies now or that Obama should suddenly renounce his views on something just because Sarah Palin, et. al might support him on something. Even though they might support him on Afghanistan, there is no way in hell they're going to stop calling him a "socialist" or smearing him on other things.

15. And when the ....
... hidden clauses and loopholes are truly made available. From what info has been given, this 'HCR Bill' is full of ambiguity which BENEFITS the HICs, leaving us to pick up an even bigger tab while forcing people to deal with said HICs. Sure, Health Care is going to be managed by private insurance lackeys while being over-looked...err.. I mean 'watched over'....like they 'watched over' WS and the rest of the pilfering ilk.

I just hope they wake up and soon...

25. Ha! Of course that's the "chosen" poll by certain posters. MSNBC posted a link to the AP poll
just so they could tout the negative headline about Obama's low approval for the surge. They just "chose" to totally ignore the improved poll numbers including his presidential approval rating. Good thing I did a little digging. ;)

29. The Afghanistan poll questions are ambiguous
Edited on Thu Dec-17-09 06:56 AM by mcablue
It says 56% oppose the war in Afghanistan, but another question said the "situation" in Afghanistan is approved by 52%. What's up with that?
