Lawrence O'Donnell: The 'most powerful man in America'--Grover Norquist
There's one person standing in the way of Republicans doing the right thing when it comes to taxes, and that's Grover Norquist. He has a virtual lock on GOP tax policy. But, one Republican Senator is finally standing up to machine. Msnbc's Lawrence O'Donnell has more in the Rewrite.

3. The entire Bush Presidency was a Grover Norqiust wet dream.
Bush intentionally ran up a huge debt so that the GOP could point at it and scream "Oh My God! Look at that debt, let's kill Social Security and Medicare!!!"

He put incompetent fools into positions at every level of government so that when the various agencies failed, the GOP could scream "see, the government isn't good at that, let's privatize it."

That, plus stacking the Supreme Court with corporatist shills were the main goals of his 2 terms.

4. Just how will we get the deficit in check without gutting
SS,Medicare and Medicaid if the Republicans just refuse to raise taxes?
