The Internet lights the fires of revolt in the Middle East..
What an amazing late winter and early spring it has been in Middle Eastern Politics. A part of the world that has been under the heels of dictatorships, familial Presidential pass-downs and monarchies. I may be wrong, but I think only Turkey is a true Islamic Democracy.

Many will try to take claim for the turn around in peoples outlooks. But the truth of the matter is.. it is the internet that opened up the Middle East.

Women in some of the Islamic states have been treated as less than animals.. burned, beaten and slaughtered for the slightest hint or lie of impropriety. Hundreds of Thousands tortured, maimed raped and killed because they were not the correct sect of any religious group in one given area or another.

People had thrown up their hands and turned a blind eye to the suffering.. or worse yet a quid pro quo rationalization of one violent act being less than another.

But it was the internet.. putting a light to what was happening on the ground.

My husband said it best.. if we had had, this type of communication.. Hitler would never have happened.

I will be so glad when we finish pulling our people our of Iraq, Afghanistan, and please do not put boots on the ground in Libya..

But these are real live human beings.. making a wave of change unlike anything we have ever witnessed before.
