I keep seeing televison reports of Obama's popularity going down...

Am I the only one who thinks his popularity is dropping ( if indeed it is) because he doesn't seem to be delivering on his promises? In other words, the pundits are presenting his popularity drop as a drop in support of public option, medicare for all,etc. I think he's losing popularity because people want those things and it looks like he's not going to deliver.

The irony is that it's a negative feedback loop. The more his popularity drops, the more the blue dogs think they can hold out and kill the bill. The more the blue dogs cut out of the bill, the more Obama's popularity drops.

He's UP 2 points to 56% approval from 54% last month."
Right direction of country UP 8 points to 46% from 38% last month.
Situation in Afghanistan UP 10% to 52% from 42% last month.

2. I was listening to NBC tonight. What really gripes me about polls

is that they are multiple choice, not essay questions. I don't think we can know what the people who were polled are really thinking unless we know exactly what the question was and the question also is clear enough to give a good result.

3. I have seen the same thing. They ask

do you approve of how Obama is handling health care? You are sure to get 45% or so that are Republicans and oppose any change a Democrat attempts. Then you get another 10-20% that disapprove for the exact opposite reason, they think he didn't go far enough. They ask do you approve of how the President is handling the economy? The Republicans will disapprove because of the Stimulus spending mainly because they fear it may work, while Democrats disapprove because they think the package should have been bigger and blame him for unemployment. They ask if you approve how he is handling Afghanistan, the Republicans will disapprove because he set a pull out date, then the left disapprove because they think we should pull out now.
