It's a win/win. IF he could get the Republican nomination (which he can't) he would get crushed. If he garners enough support to lead a 3rd party campaign (which he might) that can only help the President. Thanks to Mr. Perot, Bill Clinton beat an incumbent republican President with 43% of the vote.

weren't sure that Obama was really legitimate. He both proved that he IS legitimate and called the bluff of the birthers. He did a smart thing and shut up Trump and the other birthers with what he did. There were signs, "Where's the Birth Certificate?" There were books coming out, and more people believing the lies of Trump, who some DID believe since they saw him as credible. Now they see him as a liar, a racist, and a clown.
