2. Because it was the right thing to do. I was happy that most Massachusetts congresspeople

voted YES to the bill. Accepting blackmailing is NEVER a good answer.

So, now, what will the Democrats accept to cut in order to get Cantor and Boehner on board?

4. Republicans weren't going to vote for it
so it wasn't going to pass. There still would have to be a deal. If Republicans want to come with a clean bill without gimmmicks, then Democrats will vote for it, and it will still require Republican votes to pass.

5. It was still the right thing to do, except if the Dems think they need to cut more
In this case, they have to say what they are ready to cut. If not, the only way for them to criticize the GOP is to remain true to themselves.

Sorry, but I stand with my congressman on this. A YES vote was what was needed, and congratulations to the 97 who did so. It would have changed nothing if the other ones had done the same thing, and it would have been clear where they are. As far as I am concerned, Hoyer is ready to compromise on Medicaid with the GOP, and it is sad.

3. Probably because the
vote that I think you're referring too was a manipulative ploy dreamt up by the Boehner/Cantor team to embarrass the Democrats. Luckily for us Boehner and Cantor are so fucking stupid that they made sure everyone knew all about it well before the vote.

6. Was it not Blue Dogs and DLC.??? Conservatives are the
Deficit Hawks. As usual they must make the party look weak
Really, they want to make cuts because their Constituency
(Upper Income Dems and Republicans(yes, some Republicans)
are pleased. The Republican Lite Democrats. They are
probably making a mistake here--associating themselves
with the Ryan Plan. It was this group who lost in November
elections--never seem to learn.
