Who actually did something to convince your Senators to support a public option. I know a lot of you did heroic things. But to those who sat idle and did nothing to invluence the debate somewhere other than this echo chamber, do you really think you did enough?

1. Why are we trying to blame people for not being happy with this bill?
They aren't the ones in charge.

3. Because having to accept the fact the President fucked up
doesn't fit in their world view.

7. Dean is 100% right
Pass the good stuff that you can, leave out the controversial stuff. Trying to attempt a sweeping reform all at once bill with the congress he had was arrogance at the highest levels.

I can understand trying to do that with banking back in March when people were ready to take pitchforks up to New York, but an issue that has been fucked up this long isn't going to be fixed with one bill.

2. Senator Casey and Senator Specter supported a Public Option
My GOP congressman wouldn't support one if Jesus himself told him to do it.

What are you saying. This has come down to one man, the President knew the math from the beginning.

You think he might have prepared for this...in 6 months.

5. Bellyaching
Nice one.

More flamebait.

Any more denigrating, cajoling, or litmus testing you want to do today? Keep it in one thread; toxic crap is best when it is contained.

12. I think overall Democrats conceded the town hall meetings to the freepers last summer.
Most of them were uncontested even in the district or state of a Democrat.

21. What an irrelevant question. This has nothing to do with teabaggers.
It has everything to do with caving in to those in the pay of health insurance companies.

amd that we would back them up with feet on the ground in the next election.....they are going to cave to what MSM says is the anger on the right.

Town hall meetings were the ONLY way to let them know how we felt?

he held one meeting (not in my town) at the local Rotary, and he charged for admission.

26. I'm not sure what I would have "belly-ached" for at those meetings...
No clear proposals, shifting positions, delays, Whitehouse sniping at its own supporters. If I had shown up, it would be to throw spit-wads at Tea baggers for no particular reason.

Did I write letters? Yeah. Did I sign petitions? Yeah. Is it enough? No.

You cannot do enough if you don't know what you are fighting for.

27. I called both my senators and my rep.
I don't think any of them held any town halls that I know of. But I don't have to worry about my Rep. Neil Abercrombie. He's more left than I am.
